But when the agents go back to the office, there's a more daunting task they have to face: paperwork. This is the real world, 2008. Elections, Olympics, and other everyday happenings that no one pays much attention to. Then someone comes along, and tries to destroy the world. The BPRD, situated in an underground facility in Connecticut, is a semi-secret organisation that deals with the stuff most people don't even believe in, including averting the occasional apocalypse. Assembled are the usual band of freaks and geeks. The aliens the critters the mutants or just the fanboys who have knowledge of the paranormal - and more. They make up the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, they protect a world that generally have little idea they exist. As Professor Trevor Bruttenholm once said, when things go bump in the night, the BPRD bumps back. The Bureau is a multifandom agency RPG. We are, and that is exactly why we have created Waddiwasi. Tidbits of information is all we have been given, tiny nuances to sustain us, but what about the fine details? What really happened during the First War when You-Know-Who was at his peak and the Wizarding World was barely staying above water? The individual stories of those during that time and the conflicts they had were never written, but they certainly existed. Students just out of Hogwarts viewed the world with endless possibilities; some acquired jobs, found a place to live, settled down and had a family, while others made their parents proud, took the Dark Mark, and joined an organisation which promised to restore the wizarding world to its former glory. It is set in 2004 and is mostly just a light-hearted game that should be a lot of fun. There are a bunch of popular roles still open, but I am personally in need of a HARRY POTTER, and I'm sure that Hermione wouldn't object to seeing RON WEASLEY around either. In addition to them we could also use the rest of the WEASLEYS, NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM, and some more people who aren't GRYFFINDORS. wizards_quarter via wq_mods to join! The second community goes by the name of Snitched, and is an AU game set in 2002 where the Death Eaters have been running the show since August 1, 1997. Order Members and Muggleborn are snatched up and put in Azkaban before being placed into slavery, the Order is severly lacking in the resources to fight the Death Eaters properly, and the Trio is still trying to find those pesky horcruxes. We've been open since May and show no sign of slowing down. We're looking for DEATH EATERS, ORDER MEMBERS, and SLAVES. But we also especially need NEUTRALS who could be persuaded one way or the other by a particular side. We have loadddssssss of characters open, including Harry Potter and every single Weasley. We have someone applying as Hermione presently so that should be loads of fun XD. As far as story lines, we have a few open. My Morag MacDougal (maggiemac) has a young son, Caleb, and it would be great to have her ex-fiancee/Caleb's father in play. He is currently unnamed and his backstory is very open. See Morag's info for more information or the family page at this journal. Roger Davies would love to have more proffessional Quidditch Players around, as well as some groupies, but that's just Roger. (rogerflies) Seamus Finnigan wants his best mate, Dean around, and more Gryffindors around. His fiancee, Lavender, would love to see Parvati and Padma around. Seamus also needs some of his band mates at the game too (he is the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Organized Chaos) Daphne Greengrass would love having her husban, Adrian Pucey, around. Blaise Zabini needs his long time girlfriend, Dahlia Moon, who is the mother of his daughter. ANY AND ALL SLYTHERINS ARE WELCOME! Last but not least, Hufflepuffs are completely missing from our game! No game is complete without our badgers! Baby Bumped is an AU, post war game set in 2003. The war is over and most characters are focusing on their careers or their families. In the midst of personal plots there is a game wide plot: a baby boom. When it goes up, you will have until December 15th to claim your prompt. A few reminders. Each person can only claim one prompt. If you FINISH your submission early and turn it in, you can go back and claim another one if there are any left and do that one, too, but everyone starts with ONLY ONE. Each prompt can be claimed by one writer and one artist (who do not have to cooperate at all!) Since claims are being collected on LJ and IJ, in the case of two writers or two artists claiming a prompt simultaneously on the two different servers, that'd be the only exception where we allow two fics or two works of art based on the same prompt. AU HARRY POTTER GAME [30 Nov 2008|07:42pm] find_a_game [treyvoni] Tweak! In 1995 the world is changing, and not everything is the way it has been in the life of Harry Potter or his friends. Fifteen years ago the Potters placed a Fidelius Charm upon their home, making Sirius Black their Secret Keeper. Lord Voldemort never discovered the location of the Potter home. Lily and James Potter are very much alive. Also hidden, the Longbottoms avoided their own ghastly fate. Having no way to move forward, Lord Voldemort vanished slowly into the background. However, no Death Eater would consider it a retreat. Harry grew up in a loving home under the protection of the Charm and is far from the poor boy that he once would have been at Privet drive. With his parents around, Neville was not coddled, but loved and became well balanced early on in life. Upon entering Hogwarts, Harry soon learned the world was not exactly as his parents and uncles had made it out to be. Neville was pleased that everything was what he had hoped for. In the years since Lord Voldemort’s disappearance the Wizarding World has become a place of tension and strife. Pure-bloods are looked upon with suspicions, Half-bloods are being shunned by both sides for not being on one side or the other, and Muggle-borns are vanishing before they have a chance to even attend Hogwarts. In this world, the Order works to protect the Muggle-borns and get them out of the country for their own safety. The Aurors arrive after the attacks and have the gruesome job of cleaning up. No one is sure who leads these attacks, but everyone suspects the socialite Bellatrix Black Lestrange and the Lord Lucius Malfoy. The Ministry of Magic is split in two. When the current Minister, Bartemius Crouch Senior, came into office he led the largest dark wizard hunt of the century. Unfortunately, his wide nets caught up the blundering or the stupid but allowed the slipperiest of the Dark Lord’s followers through, including the Minister’s own son. Barty Crouch Jr, still firmly in under the direction his Lord went on to work for his father at the Ministry. At the beginning of the 1995 school year he was inducted as the current Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. The Ministry is rife with the corruption of the Death Eaters lying in wait for their Lord’s return. Their day is here and now. If the Order cannot handle it, if the Ministry is too subverted to control it, then what are the two Prophesied Children to do? It is up for Harry or Neville to rise to the occasion, for the sake of the Wizarding World. All four Hogwarts Teams decided to go, although some notable players were missing as they had died in battle, they still went to Hogwarts on April 14th. It was meant to be a fun way to start a new tradition of bring past players to the Hogwarts Pitch. As Oliver Wood, Marcus Flint, Roger Davies, and Jacob Summerby walked to the center to shake hands, the teams surrounded them in a circle. That's when it happened. To the 28 players standing on the pitch it felt as though the ground had fallen out from beneath them. It was almost like a dream as they landed just outside a village. They all looked around trying to figure out what had happened. Seconds later an old woman who wouldn't show her face walked up to them, some had their wands drawn, some were just watching, some were getting ready to cry. As the old woman opened her mouth to speak, two figures started to walk towards her... "Welcome, it is about time you showed up. We've been waiting for you. Welcome to your new home. You are tasked with completing a tournament and figuring out life here. You all have a room, and a job. Don't worry, time here isn't what you are used to. You will not miss anything from the world you are from. There are two additional players here, they will take their rightful spots on Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. The two who have come in their place will act as substitutes for all four teams." The old woman smiled at them, and the two men flanking her showed their faces... Cedric Diggory and Fred Weasley. Each has been here since their respected deaths, growing to the age they would have been in your world." Each player was quickly assigned a room, a journal to communicate in that also tells them when practice and matches are, and a day job... There is no trading, it is merely what the lives of these 30 Quidditch players now lead... With the promise as soon as a winner is announced they can go home.... Let the Games Start... [30 Nov 2008|04:40pm] find_a_player [merrily] Hey everyone! I'm posting on behalf of a community I joined very recently, pullusaetas. We're set in the Marauders' Era, during their sixth year. Tons of characters are available, but of course I have my own selfish desires. I play Mary MacDonald: Muggleborn, practically clueless, and too talkative for her own good. These attributes have actually gotten her into trouble in the past- namely with Mulciber. He thought it would be funny to do a bit of Dark Magic on her a few years ago. I'd love to have him around just to get a handle on how Mary acts around those who have made it impossible for her to be completely ignorant of her status in the Wizarding world. (He's listed as a current Death Eater, but that isn't set in stone. I'd actually prefer him to be still at Hogwarts, but that's not at all at my discretion.) Mary, Daisy, and Lily's final roommate is missing as well. The girls we have so far are already radically different from one another, and I'm sure things could get very interesting with yet another personality thrown into the mix.
